Project: Colonial Butterfly Hinges
What: This is an intermediate skill level project that requires forge welding, heat control due to thin metal (11/4 x1/8), sizing and fitting.
Tools: Safety equipment- eye, ear, and burn, etc. Bring your favorite stuff; forge, too (if you have one.)
Cost: Members of the Philip Simons Artist Guild Provide instruction at no cost. Participants must be members of PSABG ($15.00 annually.) Onlookers - no cost. Small cost for materials and donation for lunch.
Preregistration Required: Contact Bob at rfkaltenbach@bellsouth.net to register and ascertain skill level.
PSABG members contact Barry at blmyers647@gmail.com
Participants must sign acknowledgement of danger and waiver of liability.

More bad news. The bi-annual Southern Blacksmith Association Conference in Madison, Ga was cancelled for May 2021. I have just today confirmed the date for our April Meeting at Magnolia Gardens. April 10 is the date, but stay turned for updates...COVID has not gone away yet.

The Statewide COVID new cases number continues to rise...Accordingly we have decided to CANCEL our December Meeting. I know that many are disappointed, but we all need to look forward to success with the new vaccine and our return to a more normal life. Stay turned for updates on our February Meeting normally held in Conway.

A quick update on the December Meeting...Members should have their newsletter by now, look at it for additional details. You can also download a copy from this website using the Newsletter button at the top of the home page. We will make a final decision on 12/1 as to cancellation of the meeting. The final decision will be published on Barry's email list, on Facebook and here on the website. The COVID numbers are rising all across the State...

Hope this note finds all safe and healthy. As of this writing the June Meeting scheduled on June 13 is still a GO, but we must watch the trends of the virus and be prepared to CANCEL at the last minute. Keep posted by checking Facebook and here on our website. See the Events sections for Meeting details. The website went dark for a short period prior to yesterday because of me missing an email requiring a confirmation action. It's done and we are "live" again. Respectfully, Ray Pearre

July 4, 2020 An update...The August Meeting has been CANCELLED because of the current upsurge in COVID-19 cases in our State. Hope all reading this are healthy and following the current recommendations to wear a Mask and practice Social Distancing. Hope you have had a Happy 4th of July. Respectfully, Ray Pearre
